Type Of Labor
The handymen hired will have substantial experience in residential construction or one or more skilled trades. There are also opportunities to train and develop, as is true to the MAVericks’ mission.
Source Of Labor
Excellent labor pools for military veterans exist in the Transition Assistance Programs at Fort Carson, US Air Force Academy, Peterson Air Force Base, Pikes Peak Workforce Center, and veteran assistance organizations (e.g. Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center). Or if you know of someone who fits the criteria, be sure to point them in our direction.
Pay Structure
Wages to MAVericks employees will be competitive with local and national averages for those in the construction/handyman industry.  Performance-based pay raises will be offered to those who are deserving and to enhance talent retention.
Training
Initial company-specific training on values and procedures will be provided to all new hires, will be reiterated at weekly meetings, and will be captured in the MAVericks Employee Handbook. Initial 10-hour OSHA training will also be provided to all craftsmen. Technical training will be provided through periodic in-house refresher courses, guest lecturers, or paid courses when there is appropriate value in doing so.
Task / Responsibility Management
Initially, the owner/CEO will fulfill most administrative duties, as well as estimator, business developer, and part-time handyman. The COO will serve as primary estimator and scheduler, and will also function as much as possible as a handyman himself.
